IHG Fiji Hotels, which includes the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel, and Holiday Inn Suva, successfully wrapped up their ‘Movember’ campaign this week, raising $5,000 for Lifeline Fiji. This month-long initiative brought attention to vital men’s health issues, such as mental health, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer, fostering open discussions and community engagement.

The ‘Movember’ campaign is recognized worldwide for advocating men’s health, encouraging individuals to grow moustaches and engage in conversations about often-overlooked health matters. IHG Fiji Hotels highlighted their commitment to this cause by offering bespoke experiences and events during the month, allowing both guests and staff to contribute meaningfully.

A significant aspect of the campaign was the Mental Health Awareness Sessions organized with Lifeline Fiji. These informative sessions, hosted at all three hotels, aimed to provide a safe space for staff to discuss mental well-being and gain access to essential resources and professional support.

Lifeline Fiji plays a crucial role in the community by providing 24/7 crisis support, suicide prevention services, and resilience-building workshops throughout the country. The hotels also introduced various Movember-themed experiences for guests, enriching the overall initiative.

Lachlan Walker, the Portfolio General Manager of IHG Hotels & Resorts for FNPF-Owned Hotels, stated that the campaign was focused on starting important conversations and dismantling the stigma surrounding men’s health issues. He expressed pride in the awareness raised and the action inspired throughout November, as well as the contributions made to support Lifeline Fiji’s vital services.

The commitment to community well-being continues to be a priority for the hotels, reinforcing their legacy of hospitality and social responsibility.

This initiative serves as an inspiring example of how businesses can positively impact their communities and promote health awareness. By fostering discussions about men’s health, IHG Fiji Hotels not only contributed financially but also encouraged important conversations and support resources that benefit the wider community.

In summary, the ‘Movember’ campaign by IHG Fiji Hotels not only raised funds for a worthy cause but also promoted awareness and conversations surrounding men’s health issues, reinforcing the importance of community well-being and support.
