Police Constable Lavenia Marama, a mother of two, celebrated her achievement as a newly sworn officer during the Police Passing Out Parade on Friday at Nasova Ground in Suva. Reflecting on her journey through the challenging training, she expressed immense gratitude for the support she received, attributing her success to her faith and family.
Constable Marama described the training as particularly tough due to her responsibilities as a mother, stating, “It was not easy. Today is a grateful and unforgettable day for me.” She emphasized the pivotal role her children played during her training, stating they were her greatest motivation and support.
Before her commitment to the Fiji Police Force, Marama spent over two and a half years in the private sector, which she believes prepared her for this new chapter in her life. Now that she is officially a police officer, she is dedicated to serving her community with integrity and commitment.
Offering advice to other single mothers and young women pursuing their dreams, Constable Marama encouraged perseverance in the face of challenges. “No matter what you are facing, don’t give up,” she urged, reminding them that opportunities are available and attainable through determination.
As she prepares to embrace her new role, Constable Marama also extended her best wishes for the upcoming festive season, acknowledging the community’s support that helped her reach this significant milestone. Her story serves as a hopeful reminder of resilience and the power of support networks in achieving one’s goals.
