Five individuals narrowly avoided serious injury in an accident involving two cargo trucks on Queen’s Road near Emuri in Sigatoka on Wednesday afternoon.
Director Traffic SSP Mitieli Divuana reported that the driver of one truck lost control while heading towards Sigatoka, resulting in the truck overturning and colliding with another vehicle operated by a 44-year-old man. The man was traveling with three passengers at the time of the incident.
Both truck drivers were taken to Lautoka Hospital, where they are currently being treated, while the three passengers received medical care and were discharged from Sigatoka Hospital yesterday.
SSP Divuana stated that the investigation is ongoing, though it is fortunate that there were no fatalities in the crash.
