The Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport has successfully finalized its outstanding annual reports for the financial years spanning from 2019/2020 to 2023/2024. This accomplishment signifies a crucial advancement in enhancing governance, accountability, and adherence to statutory reporting obligations.
The completion of these reports follows the Coalition Government’s commitment to promoting sound financial management, fostering transparent reporting, and ensuring timely audits since assuming office in December 2022. The reports provide a comprehensive overview of the Ministry’s programs, projects, and expenditures over the five-year period, offering both Parliament and the public a detailed account of its activities.
Prepared in alignment with parliamentary standards, these reports will undergo a review by the Office of the Auditor-General. The Ministry also highlights that this process has bolstered internal systems, improving record-keeping and coordination between departments.
The finalized reports are set to be presented to both Cabinet and Parliament next month and will be examined by the appropriate parliamentary committees, marking a progressive step towards ensuring greater transparency and accountability in government operations.
