A trial date has been scheduled for Walter Fong, who faces charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Fong, represented by attorney Jiten Reddy, allegedly had 0.0212 grams of methamphetamine in his possession in Lami on August 7. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, with his trial set to begin on July 30 next year, as announced by Suva Magistrate Yogesh Prasad.

In other related cases, three men are set to return for a pre-trial conference concerning charges of unlawful importation of methamphetamine on March 17 next year. Michael Malik Mudaliar and Sujeet Kumar, who are also represented by lawyer Jiten Reddy, face charges involving the importation of liquid methamphetamine totaling 8.502 liters, equivalent to 8.3214 kilograms, allegedly occurring in Nadi between May 12 and May 18 of the previous year. Their co-accused, Alvin Kumar, is charged with aiding and abetting the unlawful importation of the controlled substance.
