“Meet the Multilingual Beauty Breaking Barriers at Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024!”

Rowena Acraman, a former journalist passionate about human rights and climate change, is one of ten contestants competing in the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024. At 22 years old, she is a multilingual student and musical artist, backed by Apco Coatings, a company founded in 1977 with operations extending to Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Tonga.

Ms. Acraman speaks English, Hindi, and Japanese, showcasing her enthusiasm for learning and cultural exchange. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is a talented artist, singer, and musician, adept at playing both the guitar and ukulele. Her commitment to creativity is evident, particularly through her self-taught skills in Japanese.

Acraman aims to work with a non-governmental organization focusing on human rights and addressing climate change, highlighting her dedication to making a positive impact in the world. Apco Coatings, headquartered in Lautoka, also exports to other South Pacific islands, including Samoa.

The 68th Hibiscus Festival is set to take place at Suva Civic Foreshore and Suva Civic Centre from Saturday, August 31 to September 7. Supported by gold sponsors FMF and Vodafone, the festival promises a week filled with culture, entertainment, and a celebration of beauty and talent, according to the event organizers.
