MARRIOTT International has announced a major investment initiative aimed at enhancing tourism infrastructure in Fiji. Neeraj Chadha, the company’s area general manager and Pacific vice president, revealed plans for comprehensive renovations across several properties, coupled with the launch of a new hotel set to open in the first half of next year.
Chadha highlighted that the company has grown to encompass 9,700 hotels across 143 countries with more than 30 brands and 260 million Marriott Bonvoy members. As part of the forthcoming projects, he shared exciting updates on key developments slated for completion early next year. This includes a fully renovated Sheraton Villas, the opening of a new Westin hotel, and a revamped Sheraton Tokoriki featuring a restaurant and an impressive jetty. Notably, the jetty will include its own helipad and an innovative cellar and barrel concept that will be situated in the ocean, designed by owner Prakash Pandey.
Describing the scale of the investment as significant, Chadha emphasized that specific figures would be disclosed once the projects come to fruition. However, he confirmed that the ongoing renovations at Sheraton Villas and plans for additional developments in Western Fiji reflect a broader commitment to upgrading their offerings.
These expansion efforts aim to elevate the guest experience by merging high-quality facilities with outstanding service, reinforcing Marriott’s dedication to fostering tourism and enhancing visitors’ experiences in Fiji. The positive outlook for the future of tourism in the region is bolstered by these significant developments and investments.
