The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has issued a warning to pedestrians to remain alert while crossing roads during the festive season. This advisory comes in the wake of a tragic incident where a 58-year-old man from Nadi lost his life after being struck by a bus in Namaka on Boxing Day.

In their statement, the LTA emphasized the importance of exercising caution and vigilance when navigating roadways. They encouraged pedestrians to use designated crossing points, avoid sudden movements, and ensure the path is clear before stepping onto any road.

Additionally, the LTA reminded drivers to be vigilant at all times, especially near pedestrian areas, urging them to reduce speed and remain attentive to their surroundings.

As investigations into the fatal accident continue, the emphasis from the LTA serves as a critical reminder for both pedestrians and drivers to prioritize safety during this busy season. It is hoped that increased awareness will prevent such tragedies in the future.
