The Lomanivuna High School Under-17 rugby league team is gearing up for the upcoming Fiji Secondary School Rugby League competition, thanks to a generous sponsorship from Fiji Hardwood Corporation Limited (FHCL). This significant donation of $4,000 is aimed at providing new team kits after the previous jerseys were destroyed in a fire that affected the school’s storeroom.

Principal Litiana Romanu expressed heartfelt appreciation for this support, noting that the new uniforms will greatly uplift the team’s morale as they prepare for the Central Zone Schools Rugby League Competition. “The new jerseys will certainly raise the morale of the school’s Under-17 Rugby League team,” Romanu stated.

Semi Dranibaka, General Manager of FHCL, emphasized the company’s commitment to youth empowerment through education and sports. He explained that their donation improves the team’s training experience while instilling critical values such as teamwork, discipline, and leadership among the students.

The contribution includes sporting uniforms, muscle vests, and socks, designed to ensure the team is well-equipped for competition. This initiative highlights the crucial role of community support in encouraging youth participation in constructive activities, demonstrating how local businesses can significantly impact the development of young athletes.

Moreover, such funding and support are essential in helping young individuals navigate social challenges, potentially guiding them away from negative influences and encouraging healthier lifestyles through sports. The rising focus on student engagement in athletics is reflected in similar initiatives at various schools, reinforcing the belief that participation in sports can lead to a promising future for the youth.

The emphasis on supporting young athletes through community collaborations offers hope for a brighter path, as these initiatives can pave the way for both personal growth and collective improvement within society.
