Ravikash Chand has been appointed as the new Head of Finance for Westpac Fiji, taking over from Matthew Abbott, who was instrumental in the bank’s financial leadership. In 2021, Shane Smith made history by becoming the first Fijian to serve as the Chief Executive of Westpac Fiji since the bank’s establishment in 1901. His appointment marks a significant milestone, highlighting the bank’s commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening its ties with the community. Smith’s vast experience within Westpac and his firm understanding of the local market dynamics position him well to guide the bank towards future growth and innovation.
Earlier this year, Dinesh Kumar, another local professional, was named Head of Retail. He brings more than 15 years of experience in the financial sector, with 13 of those years spent in banking.
