The Lelean Memorial School under-19 rugby team is preparing with focus and determination for their quarter-final showdown against Suva Grammar School, the champions of the Southern zone. The match is set to take place tomorrow at 2:10 PM at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The team comes off a hard-fought 18-15 victory over Bucalevu Secondary School, a match that tested their resilience and strategies on the field. Ulaiyasi Vakatawakoula, Assistant Principal of Lelean, praised Bucalevu for providing a significant challenge, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded and concentrating on their own strengths as they prepare for the strong competitors ahead.

Vakatawakoula stated, “We are taking it one game at a time. Facing Suva Grammar, who holds the top position in the Southern zone, will not be an easy task, but the boys need to work extra hard to secure this win. We have told the boys to focus on their strengths, minimize mistakes, and approach the game with respect for our opponents.”

With a motivated squad and the support of loyal fans cheering them on, the Lelean team is eager to showcase their skills in what promises to be an exciting quarter-final match. This clash not only highlights the competitive spirit in Fiji’s school rugby scene but also serves to inspire a sense of community and resilience among young athletes.
