The Lautoka City Council has announced its collaboration with KPMG, a recruitment firm, to find a new chief executive officer (CEO), as shared by the board chairperson, Taitusi Rasoki. During the recent inauguration of the newly upgraded Lautoka bus terminal, which cost $2.8 million, Rasoki emphasized that appointing a skilled CEO is crucial for enhancing the council’s service delivery.
Rasoki expressed optimism that the right CEO, in partnership with the current special administrators and management team, could significantly elevate the quality of services offered to the residents of Lautoka. He stated, “I anticipate that if a capable CEO is appointed and working closely with the current special administrators and the management, Lautoka City Council can lift the standard of service delivery to the people of Lautoka to another level and dimension.”
In acknowledging the successful upgrade of the bus terminal, Rasoki conveyed his gratitude to project consultants from West End Consulting PTE Ltd and contractors from Hot Spring High Services PTE Ltd for their commitment to completing the project on time and within budget. “This appointment goes with this expectation for us to deliver and evidence of delivery is what we see here this morning,” he said, highlighting the importance of tangible results stemming from strong leadership.
The efforts to enhance the Lautoka City Council’s structure signal a proactive approach toward community development and improved services, fostering hope for better governance and quality of life for its citizens.
