The Paradise Seafood Lautoka Blues are gearing up for a crucial semi-final match against Extra Supermarket Labasa in the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT at HFC Bank Stadium this Saturday. The defending champions, who have won the title in 2023 and 2024, are determined to continue their title defense despite a challenging start in the Extra Premier League.

Team president Shalen Prasad highlighted their commitment to recovery and preparation, stating that the focus is especially on the injured players, with hopes that some will be available for the semi-final. “Our preparation started today—we’re concentrating on those who didn’t feature in the first round. It will be tough, as all teams have had a break and will come well-prepared,” he said.

Lautoka’s path to the semi-finals reminds fans of their championship spirit and determination. Despite qualifying as the last team, the squad’s belief in their ability to defend their title has been a driving force. “We acknowledged ourselves as defending champions, and to defend our title, we had to first qualify,” Prasad added, crediting the coaching staff for their effective preparation and game plan.

As the team prepares for their showdown with Labasa, Prasad respects their opponents, a side currently leading the EPL and known for their strength. “Labasa is a strong team and won’t be taken lightly. They’ll give us a tough game, but we’ll be ready,” he asserted.

The semi-final matches kick off with Lautoka facing Labasa at 2 PM, followed by a game between Suva and Rewa at 4:30 PM. The final match is scheduled for Sunday at 3 PM.

This tournament showcases the competitive nature of Fijian football and brings communities together, creating a sense of excitement and anticipation. Lautoka’s confidence and the support from their fans could play a vital role as they aim for another title in what promises to be thrilling matchups.
