The village of Tubou on Lakeba in Lau is engaged in solemn traditional preparations for the installation of Ratu Tevita Kapaiwai Lutunauga Uluilakeba Mara, who will assume the roles of Tui Nayau, Tui Lau, and Sau ni Vanua o Lau. This event is of paramount significance in Lauan history, draping the community in a rich tapestry of cultural tradition and reverence.
Various delegations from across the Lau Group have converged at the chiefly residence in Vatuwaqa, bringing with them traditional gifts that symbolize unity and respect.
