Twenty-year-old midfielder Fergus Gillion is quickly adapting to his new role at Bula FC, finding excitement in both his position on the team and the vibrant culture of Fiji. The former New Zealand Under-20 representative is among a select group of international players on the squad and has expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received upon his arrival.

In a recent video released by the Bula FC media team, Gillion shared insights into his initial experiences with the club as the team gears up for the upcoming OFC Pro League. He described the training sessions as rigorous, particularly due to the high temperatures, with back-to-back practices pushing players to their physical limits. Nevertheless, he noted the squad’s resilience, emphasizing that their training has been both demanding and competitive.

Outside of training, Gillion has developed a taste for the local cuisine, enjoying dishes like stir-fried noodles and chicken stew. He humorously mentioned that one of his favorite aspects has been the abundant tropical juice served to players, a refreshing treat after intense sessions.

Growing up in a football-oriented family, Gillion’s passion for the sport blossomed through backyard matches with his siblings. The decision to join Bula FC was strongly supported by his family and friends, who believed it was an important opportunity in his career journey. As he continues to acclimate to the heat and lifestyle, Gillion credits the friendly nature of his teammates for helping him settle in swiftly. His experience so far signals a promising chapter for both him and Bula FC as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
