The TEMC Birdland Kadavu team is motivated to win the under-18-21 title, which they believe would be the perfect Christmas gift for their families back on Kadavu. In a strong showing, the team defeated the Village Boys with a resounding score of 31-0 in their opening pool match, effectively avenging their earlier loss during the recent Fiji Bitter Yalovata Lomaiviti 7s.

Team captain Ratu Lacavukivuki Bainivalu shared that many players on the team had to leave school early and are now using their rugby skills as a means to support their families and enhance their understanding of the sport. Bainivalu expressed the team’s determination to excel in the competition in Wairiki, acknowledging the tough competition they face from other teams. He emphasized their commitment to working hard to secure victories not just for themselves, but as a gesture of love and appreciation for their families during the festive season.

The Kadavu team is currently placed in Pool Three, where they will compete against teams such as BLK Lavidi, VDM Black Heron, Roots Exile, and Nasolo.

This story serves as a testament to the resilience and determination of young athletes who are pursuing their dreams while supporting their families. With their focus on teamwork and hard work, the team embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and community, making their aspirations not just about winning, but also about creating joy for their loved ones during the holidays.

In summary, the TEMC Birdland Kadavu team is on a mission to win the under-18-21 title for their families, showcasing their dedication and determination in the face of challenges.
