For Year 11 student Jaden Francis, the recent Inaugural Academic Excellence Induction at Marist Brothers High School was a significant milestone and a testament to his hard work and dedication. Scoring an impressive 366 out of 400, Jaden was among the first cohort to be recognized within this new tradition, themed “Academic Champions, Academic Excellence Champions.”

The ceremony, which was officiated by the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, marked a historic occasion for both the school and its promising scholars. Jaden expressed his feelings about the achievement, stating, “I’ve always believed that success isn’t just about being smart. It’s about consistency, sacrifice, and the will to keep going when things get tough.” He added that this award means a great deal to him as it highlights the importance of effort in the pursuit of academic success.

Jaden attributed his achievements to a disciplined study routine and the unwavering support of his teachers and family. “My parents are my backbone,” he noted. His mother, Anjeeta Francis, poignantly shared her pride, stating, “Seeing him up there brought tears to my eyes. I knew he had it in him.” His father, Javan Francis, echoed this pride, mentioning that Jaden sets a positive example for his younger siblings and embodies the spirit of Marist.

In a hopeful message, Jaden expressed his desire to inspire others, emphasizing that his journey is just beginning and encouraging fellow students that they too can achieve their dreams.

This uplifting narrative resonates with similar experiences at Marist Brothers High School, where the induction of new leaders and a commitment to nurturing academic excellence reflect a broader trend of leadership development among students. This environment fosters resilience and determination, encouraging a community where students strive for greatness not only for themselves but also for their peers and families.

Overall, Jaden’s journey serves as an inspiring reminder of the potential that lies within every student when supported by family, educators, and a community dedicated to excellence.
