A team of officers from the Agriculture and Waterways Ministry set out from Suva City last night, on a mission to Totoya Island, part of the Lau Group. They brought along vital farm machinery aimed at bolstering coastal protection measures and enhancing farm access roads on the island.

This initiative is an extension of Fiji’s broader commitment to improving agricultural infrastructure, which is crucial not just for farming communities but also for their resilience against climate change impacts. The deployment of these resources reflects a proactive approach to ensuring that farmers have the necessary tools for effective land management and sustainability.

As these efforts unfold, the hope is that they will significantly improve the quality of agricultural practices on Totoya Island, benefiting local communities and contributing to food security in the region.
