Investment Fiji Unveils Billion-Dollar Project for Investor Ease

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica announced that Investment Fiji is currently managing a pipeline of 184 projects valued at $6.2 billion, up from $4.3 billion.

In his response to the 2024-2025 National Budget, Kamikamica emphasized that a significant factor in attracting billions of dollars in investment will be the ‘Ease of Doing Business Project.’ This initiative includes a digital ‘BusinessNow Fiji portal,’ which will act as a virtual one-stop platform for investors.

Kamikamica highlighted that international trade is crucial to Fiji’s economy. The Ministry has been negotiating for better trade terms for Fiji, which is notably the only Pacific Island nation in the 14-member Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.

“Investors will soon have access to a single platform that integrates 16 government agencies and offers 25 e-Services by 2025. This will simplify processes from starting a business to obtaining construction permits, opening up endless opportunities,” Kamikamica said.

He added that the Government plans to launch this initiative soon.
