The Fiji Police Force has initiated an investigation into the death of a senior manager at the Crowne Plaza in Wailoaloa, Nadi. Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Mesake Waqa stated that the police are approaching the inquiry with an open mind to determine the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death.

The 41-year-old manager was discovered unresponsive in the bathroom on Saturday morning, exhibiting physical injuries. ACP Waqa emphasized the importance of avoiding speculative conclusions while assuring the victim’s family that a comprehensive investigation will take place. The Fiji Police Force urges patience from the community as they will provide updates once the investigation reaches its conclusion.

In a recent statement, Shaun Parsons, the General Manager of Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, noted that law enforcement has indicated no criminal investigation is currently underway regarding the death of their senior staff member.

This situation highlights the commitment of the Fiji Police to transparency and thoroughness in their investigations, which is vital for community trust. It is also reassuring to hear from the resort’s management that there is no implication of foul play, which may help alleviate concerns among staff and guests.

In summary, the investigation is ongoing, and the police are dedicated to uncovering the facts while ensuring the family is supported throughout this challenging time.
