Fulori Diraboki, a 13-year-old student, will be honored with a Fiji Children’s Award this Friday after being named Dux of Dravo District School. Her remarkable achievement comes amidst the challenges of caring for her bedridden mother while balancing her studies.

Fulori’s inspiring story, which gained significant attention on social media last month, showcases her determination and resilience. Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Lynda Tabuya commended Fulori, highlighting that she is a role model worthy of recognition.

Despite her responsibilities at home, including managing household duties and caring for her mother, Fulori excelled academically, earning the Year 8 Dux Trophy at her school in Tailevu. Minister Tabuya expressed her pride in Fulori’s achievements, noting her connection to Fulori’s district of Tawake in Cakaudrove, which further underscores the community’s pride in her success.

The award ceremony, organized by the ministry in collaboration with the Fiji Children’s Award, will recognize children like Fulori who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their communities and families.

Fulori’s story serves as a reminder of the strength and perseverance that young individuals can embody, inspiring others in similar situations to overcome their own challenges.

In a world often filled with adversity, stories like Fulori’s represent hope and the potential for positive change. She exemplifies the idea that hard work and dedication can lead to remarkable achievements, even in the face of significant difficulties.
