Thirteen-year-old Fulori Diraboki has been named the dux of Dravo District School, a remarkable achievement considering her responsibilities in caring for her bedridden mother throughout a challenging year. Fulori will be honored with a Fiji Children’s Award during a ceremony set to take place on Friday.

Her inspiring story, shared last month, resonated with many Fijians and garnered significant attention on social media platforms. Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, praised Fulori not only for her academic excellence but also for her resilience in the face of adversity.

Despite the daily challenges of managing household duties and providing care for her mother, Fulori excelled in her studies and earned the Year 8 Dux Trophy at Dravo District School in Tailevu. Minister Tabuya expressed immense pride in Fulori’s achievements, noting her as a shining example of perseverance.

The ministry, in partnership with the Fiji Children’s Award, will celebrate Fulori’s accomplishments during the ceremony, emphasizing that the award honors children who make significant contributions to their communities and families.
