Extra Bula FC will be missing defender Gabriele Matanisiga for their upcoming OFC Pro League Round Three match due to a back injury. This news comes as the team prepares to clash with Vanuatu United in Melbourne this Sunday.
Head coach Stephane Auvray confirmed Matanisiga’s absence while also hinting at a positive development on the injury front, stating that three players are on the road to recovery. “We have one injury; one player is out; three players are coming back from injury. So it’s part of the life of a club, you know, of a season. You always have to juggle between the injuries and try to make the best out of it,” Auvray explained.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by injuries, Auvray remains optimistic, viewing the situation as an opportunity for other players to step up and demonstrate their capabilities. “It’s good for some players. It gives them a chance to show what they can do as well,” he added.
Among those returning to the squad is Ryan Naresh, who was showing promise before an injury in New Zealand. Young midfielder Veleni Rasorewa is also working his way back into fitness, alongside Delon Shankar, who has been recovering after a two to three month absence from the pitch.
Despite the injury challenges, Bula FC is determined to remain competitive in their crucial match against Vanuatu United, set to kick off at 2 PM this Sunday. Fans can catch the action live on FBC 2, showcasing their support for the team in this pivotal fixture.
