The IHG Fiji Hotels, which are owned by FNPF, recently wrapped up their ‘Movember’ campaign, raising an impressive $5,000 for Lifeline Fiji. This month-long initiative focused on important men’s health topics such as mental health, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer, fostering essential conversations and community involvement.

‘Movember’ is a well-known global movement aimed at promoting men’s health awareness, encouraging participants to grow moustaches and engage in discussions about health issues that are often not addressed. IHG Fiji Hotels participated in this tradition by offering unique experiences and events designed for both hotel guests and staff to support the cause.

One of the significant elements of the campaign was the Mental Health Awareness Sessions, which were held at all three hotels with the help of Lifeline Fiji. These sessions offered a safe space for employees to engage in discussions around mental health, providing them with access to crucial resources and expert advice.

Lifeline Fiji plays an essential role in the community by providing 24/7 crisis support, suicide prevention services, and workshops aimed at building resilience throughout Fiji. Additionally, guests enjoyed various ‘Movember’ themed activities across all three hotels during November.

Lachlan Walker, the Portfolio General Manager for IHG Hotels & Resorts at FNPF-Owned Hotels, expressed that the campaign was not only about raising awareness but also about breaking the stigma around men’s health issues. He emphasized that the hotels are dedicated to initiatives that prioritize the well-being of their community, upholding their commitment to hospitality and social responsibility.

This initiative illustrates the vital role that businesses can play in promoting health awareness and community support, highlighting a collective approach to addressing significant health issues. It is a hopeful reminder that community engagement can lead to positive social change.

Summary: IHG Fiji Hotels concluded their ‘Movember’ campaign, raising $5,000 for Lifeline Fiji, while focusing on crucial men’s health issues and engaging in community conversations. The initiative included mental health sessions and various themed experiences, showcasing the commitment of the hotels to social responsibility and the well-being of the community.
