The Holy Cross College U15 team attracted a significant number of supporters from the Island of Taveuni during their quarter-final match against Suva Grammar School in Suva yesterday. Buckhurst Park was filled with fans clad in green, proudly displaying their school t-shirts.
Parent Asenca Bogitolu shared that they arrived on the mainland on Wednesday and are currently staying at the Vatuwaqa parish. “We are thrilled that Holy Cross College has reached the Dean’s quarterfinals for the first time,” she said, highlighting the milestone as a significant achievement.
Bogitolu acknowledged the strong support the team received throughout the tournament. “There has been tremendous support for the boys during their preparation. We encountered several challenges, but we are grateful for the encouragement, especially from our alumni. Fundraisers and Kava barrels helped us get here,” she explained.
In a show of unity, supporters coordinated their t-shirts to express their enthusiasm. “Regardless of the outcome, we are proud to have made it to the quarter-finals.”
