Hilton’s Fiji properties picked up multiple honours at the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards on 28 February, underscoring the group’s standing in the country’s hospitality sector and its investment in staff development. DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonaisali Island took Gold in the Accommodation Superior category, while Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa earned Bronze in the Accommodation Deluxe category for properties with 50 rooms or more. The Hilton Fiji cluster also secured a Bronze in the Training and Development category.

DoubleTree Sonaisali’s Gold award recognises the resort’s consistent delivery of high-quality guest experiences and “renowned Fijian hospitality,” the organisers said, singling out the property’s service standards and the collective efforts of its team members in creating memorable stays for international and domestic visitors. The Sonaisali Island resort has long been a key player in the near‑shore island market for day visits and overnight stays; the award now formally acknowledges its product and service standards against national peers.

Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa’s Bronze in the Accommodation Deluxe category highlights the resort’s focus on premium beachfront accommodation and modern amenities for larger properties. The accolade places the resort among the country’s recognised deluxe offerings for properties of its size, reinforcing its positioning as a major beachfront option for travellers seeking full‑service resort experiences.

The cluster’s Bronze for Training and Development reflects Hilton Fiji’s emphasis on workforce capability and leadership pathways. The award notes the group’s training programmes, leadership growth opportunities and other initiatives designed to strengthen Fiji’s hospitality workforce—efforts the company says are central to sustaining service quality across its resorts and supporting long‑term career progression for staff.

The Fiji awards add to a string of workplace recognitions for Hilton Fiji. The cluster has repeatedly achieved Great Place to Work certification—most recently reported as the fourth consecutive year—and the group points to a people‑first culture encompassing more than 800 team members. Carey Osborne, Hilton Fiji cluster general manager in earlier company statements, has highlighted staff commitment and teamwork as central to the cluster’s performance; the new awards tie those internal efforts to external industry recognition. Globally, Hilton was also recently named the number one hospitality company to work for by Great Place To Work, a distinction the cluster says complements its local workplace initiatives.

Industry observers say awards such as the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards are closely watched by travellers and trade partners, as they signal quality standards and management capacity at a time when Fiji’s tourism sector continues to rebuild and refine its offerings. For Hilton Fiji, the combined property and people‑development honours reinforce the dual strategy of investing in guest product while prioritising employee training and inclusion—an approach the company says will support service consistency and future growth across its Fijian portfolio.
