Winston Hill, the reigning Asia Pacific IBO champion, is gearing up to defend his title against Australian challenger Lachlan O’Shea at the upcoming South Pacific Boxing Promotion. Hill respects every opponent he faces, viewing O’Shea as a significant threat.

He describes his preparation for the fight as akin to a distressing dream—one from which he cannot escape or retaliate. “Every fight that I prepare for, I feel like the man that will be standing in front of me is the most dangerous man that I’ve ever faced,” Hill said. He likens the fight to a nightmare, emphasizing his seriousness in preparation.

Hill remains focused on strategically exploiting his opponent’s weaknesses as he approaches the bout. He portrays O’Shea almost as a mythical adversary, stating, “In my head, this guy is out to get me, and I’m fully preparing well; it’s like he’s the Boogeyman.”

Reflecting on past challenges, including a notable bout with Jese Ravudi, Hill acknowledges the growth that comes from facing tough opponents. “The first time I faced Jese, I imagined that he was this bad guy that was going to knock me out,” he recalled. After training hard and battling Ravudi again, Hill learned from the experience and was aware that Ravudi had returned as a more seasoned fighter.

As the reigning Asia Pacific champion, Hill feels the pressure of expectations but embraces any challenges ahead with determination and readiness.
