In a significant development, the High Court has confirmed that 29 state witnesses will testify against Anare Vuli Cilicewa, who is accused of murdering his de-facto partner in October 2024. This announcement was made during a hearing presided over by Justice Pita Bulamainaivalu.

State Counsel Zenith Zunaid disclosed that the prosecution intends to present a DNA report as part of its evidence in the upcoming trial. The proceedings are expected to unfold over the course of a month and are slated to begin in April.

The case will be revisited on the 3rd of next month for further instructions regarding the trial, while Cilicewa remains in custody as the legal process progresses. This case highlights the diligent efforts of the judicial system in addressing serious criminal allegations, reaffirming the importance of thorough investigations and the involvement of multiple witnesses in pursuing justice.
