The leading exporter of German sparkling wine, Henkell, has entered a collaboration with Motibhai Group of Companies to launch its celebrated range of wines in Fiji. The partnership was marked by a special event, the Henkell Wine and Wave, held at the Crowne Plaza in Nadi, where attendees enjoyed tastings from the Henkell-Freixenet collection.
Philip Wells, chief commercial officer of Henkell-Freixenet, emphasized the company’s legacy, boasting 165 years in the industry and its status as the largest German sparkling wine exporter, available in over 100 countries. He noted that Henkell ranks as the leading imported sparkling wine brand in Australia, attributing this success to both quality and affordability.
Wells explained the distinction of Henkell wines lies in their production process using the Charmat method, which involves aging the wine on its lees for six months. “This process sets us apart from competitors in terms of quality for our price point,” he stated.
Motibhai Group’s wines and spirits business development manager, Nitesh Chand, highlighted the specific Henkell products available in Fiji, which include Henkell Rose, Henkell Troken, and Henkell Blanc de Blanc. Chand expressed gratitude for Henkell’s support in providing training sessions to ensure a comprehensive introduction to this esteemed brand for the local market.
This partnership aligns with a broader trend in Fiji’s hospitality scene, where high-quality beverage offerings are increasingly prioritized. Similar to recent developments in the industry, such as the introduction of Amrut Indian Whisky by Motibhai Group in collaboration with local resorts, this initiative reflects a commitment to enhancing Fiji’s culinary landscape.
As more international brands make their debut in Fiji, it fosters a vibrant atmosphere for both locals and visitors, promising enriched experiences and a growing appreciation for fine wines and spirits.
