Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) Hospitals has announced a new partnership with the Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) to enhance healthcare access for over 10,500 sugarcane farmers, offering medical services at reduced rates. This initiative aims to promote quality and efficient healthcare for these farmers, highlighting the importance of their contributions to the economy.

The cooperation follows recent discussions between Parvish Kumar, the founder and CEO of PSH, and key representatives from SCGF, including chairperson Ahmed Bhamji and CEO Raj Sharma. During their visit to PSH’s Nadi hospital, Bhamji and Sharma expressed admiration for the hospital’s advanced medical technology and cleanliness.

Bhamji revealed that the SCGF has introduced various policy adjustments to better meet the needs of sugarcane growers, creating attractive packages for them. He emphasized the potential of the industry’s collective buying power, which can significantly benefit the productivity of the farmers.

Sharma pointed out that this partnership will greatly enhance the livelihoods of sugarcane farmers, indicating that similar assistance will also be extended to farmers in Labasa. There is a focus on conducting outreach programs to raise awareness about wellness and healthcare, aligning initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Kumar, who hailed from a sugarcane farming background, recognizes the challenges farmers face in accessing healthcare, and is motivated to support this community through the new loyalty program. He stated that this collaboration will enable farmers to receive efficient medical services at PSH hospitals.

Overall, this partnership represents a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility for sugarcane farmers, showcasing a commitment to their well-being and emphasizing the essential role they play in Fiji’s economy.

This initiative not only reflects a commitment to better health outcomes for farmers but also fosters a sense of community support, promoting a brighter future for the agricultural sector in Fiji.
