Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) Hospitals has announced a collaboration with the Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) aimed at improving healthcare access for over 10,500 sugarcane farmers at reduced rates. This partnership was established following discussions among PSH’s founder and CEO, Parvish Kumar, SCGF chairperson Ahmed Bhamji, and Fund CEO Raj Sharma over the weekend.
During a recent tour of PSH’s Nadi hospital, Bhamji and Sharma expressed their satisfaction with the hospital’s advanced medical technology and high standards of cleanliness. Bhamji mentioned that the SCGF Loyalty Programme has introduced various flexible policies and attractive packages to benefit the growers. He emphasized the significance of the 10,500 active growers who have access to better deals through collective buying power.
Sharma highlighted that this new initiative would significantly enhance the lives of sugarcane farmers. He expressed gratitude for the partnership with PSH and stated that healthcare services would also be accessible to cane farmers in Labasa. Collaborative discussions focused on outreach efforts to educate cane farmers about wellness and healthcare, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Kumar, who comes from a sugarcane farming background, acknowledged the challenges farmers face in accessing quality healthcare. He voiced his commitment to enhancing the lives of the farming community in Fiji and welcomed the opportunity to support them through efficient medical services at his facilities.
This partnership marks a hopeful and transformative step towards ensuring that sugarcane farmers receive the healthcare they need, further fortifying the essential role they play in Fiji’s economy while addressing their well-being. The initiative is a testament to the importance of community support and collaboration in improving access to essential services.
