Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lautoka Seventh Day Adventist High School, a notable development in Fiji’s education sector. The new high school is slated to begin operations in 2026, enhancing educational opportunities for children in the region.

In his speech, Rabuka highlighted the significance of this project’s progress, expressing his gratitude to the SDA Church for its vital role in supporting education in Fiji. He noted the important contributions made by religious institutions, which manage and operate 95% of the nation’s schools.

Additionally, Rabuka reinforced the government’s dedication to fostering strong partnerships with religious organizations and other stakeholders to enhance the educational landscape. He called on all involved parties to collaborate and make this school a reality, emphasizing the importance of unity in achieving this goal.

The SDA Church already supports the education sector in Fiji through its management of three high schools and 12 primary schools, illustrating its commitment to providing quality education.

This initiative represents a hopeful advancement for the education system in Fiji, promising to create more opportunities for students and families in the Lautoka area. By investing in education, the government and religious organizations are playing a crucial role in shaping a brighter future for the youth of Fiji.
