Cameron Green has emphasized the importance of vigilance for Australia as they prepare to face England in the third Test of the Ashes series, which begins on Wednesday in Adelaide. Despite currently leading the five-match series 2-0 following solid victories in Perth and Brisbane, Green recalls England’s remarkable comeback in the 2023 series, where they rallied from a 2-0 deficit to level the score at 2-2.

Green addressed the media at Adelaide Oval, stating, “That’s a really good reminder for our team. It’s a good reminder for us to stay really level.” He cautioned against looking too far ahead and stressed the need to maintain focus and finish strong.

Former Australian paceman Mitchell Johnson echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that while England could evade a 5-0 series sweep, a significant mindset shift would be necessary. Green, however, is not expecting England to abandon their aggressive batting style, regardless of the conditions they may face in Adelaide. He noted that England has consistently approached the game with an attacking mindset over the past three years, which is unlikely to change due to external factors.

In discussing the weather, Green expressed that high temperatures could play to Australia’s advantage, comparing it to the cold conditions experienced in England. He also addressed recent media attention focused on the England team’s interactions with reporters, particularly during their travel, showing understanding of their desire for privacy. “You never like getting filmed, especially when you want to get away from it all,” Green noted, showing camaraderie with the England players.

As Australia gears up to secure the series, the team must remain steadfast and utilize past experiences to ensure they don’t become complacent. The upcoming Test in Adelaide promises to be a critical moment in the series, and both teams will be looking to assert their strategies to come out on top.
