Goundar Shipping Limited has officially canceled all scheduled routes to Levuka, Natovi, Nabouwalu, and Taveuni, starting at midnight tonight. The decision was made due to unpredictable weather conditions, with the company prioritizing the safety of its passengers and crew. In a communication released via social media, Goundar Shipping assured travelers that updates would be provided when services can resume safely.

This cancellation comes in the wake of recent maritime incidents faced by Goundar Shipping. Notably, the MV Lomaiviti Princess VII experienced an emergency situation when it ran aground near Moala Island. Fortunately, all passengers were safely evacuated without injury, showcasing the effectiveness of the safety measures implemented by the company and the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF).

The move to suspend operations reflects Goundar Shipping’s commitment to a cautious approach in light of the unpredictable weather, reinforcing its dedication to passenger safety. While this decision may disrupt travel plans, it highlights the resilience of Fiji’s maritime services in ensuring that safety is always prioritized in challenging conditions.

As developments unfold, Goundar Shipping aims to keep travelers informed, reflecting a proactive communication strategy that aims to reassure passengers and emphasize the shared responsibility for safety in maritime travel. This commitment is not only vital for passenger confidence but also underscores the importance of maintaining safe transport while navigating unpredictable weather scenarios.
