The Gospel High School rugby under-15 team is determined to make an impact in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Super Deans semi-final against Marist Brothers High School this Saturday.
Coach Epeneri Koroiveibau acknowledges the challenge posed by Marist, a leading school in the Southern Zone, and emphasizes the respect they have for them. “We are preparing for the semi-final against Marist Brothers High School, and the boys have been in camp since Wednesday,” Koroiveibau stated.
He added that the strong support from the school, alumni, and parents has been instrumental in motivating the young players throughout their journey. Hailing from Nasilai in Rewa, Koroiveibau highlighted that their role is to equip the players for this important match.
“The boys understand the significance of the game; they are the ones who will take the field on Saturday,” he said. He reassured that there is no secret formula to their success; rather, the team has trained hard, played passionately, and enjoyed every match.
Koroiveibau noted that while the players have shown individual talent, the focus this Saturday will be on teamwork, stating, “We are not here to develop superstars; our goal is simply to field a team that can win.”
In conjunction with the match, Koroiveibau is encouraging supporters to wear pink to show their solidarity and support on Saturday.
