Despite adverse weather conditions, 80 golfers participated in the Stableford golf event sponsored by B Prasad & Sons Ltd at Fiji Golf Course in Vatuwaqa yesterday.
Sponsor and managing director B Prasad expressed gratitude for the turnout despite the changing weather. “I’m happy to see so many golfers here. The weather was fine in the morning but changed in the afternoon. Thankfully, we were able to play for half the day, and I’m grateful to all the participants for their support,” he said.
Prasad shared that his busy schedule had kept him away from the sport. “I’ve been playing golf for years, but my busy business life doesn’t give me much time for it. It was nice to take a break and have some fun playing and sponsoring this tournament.”
He also noted the growth of Fiji’s golf scene, particularly with young players getting into the sport. “Golf used to be seen as something only older people did, but it’s great to see the younger generation getting involved and making Fiji golf better.”
