Sixty individuals will be recognized at the upcoming 50th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s, celebrating their significant contributions to Fijian rugby over the last five decades. This special Golden Jubilee capping ceremony marks a historic milestone for the tournament, honoring the figures who have played vital roles in the sport’s development in the country.

Lawrence Tikaram, president of the Marist Rugby Club, highlighted that this initiative aims to commemorate the tournament’s 50-year anniversary by acknowledging these key contributors. In addition to the capping ceremony, a marquee legends match featuring iconic sevens players Waisale Serevi and Jerry Tuwai will take place before the main final, which Tikaram described as a major highlight of the event and a must-see for rugby enthusiasts.

The tournament anticipates participation from 120 teams, with an impressive total of over 250 matches scheduled throughout the three-day event. The Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be hosted at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva from March 26 to 28, promising an exciting celebration of rugby and its rich history in Fiji. This landmark event not only pays tribute to the sport’s heritage but also looks forward to fostering future generations of rugby talent.
