Global Care has been unveiled as the new title sponsor of the Suva Football Association, with the capital city side to compete next season as Global Care Suva FC. The naming-rights deal, announced ahead of the Extra Premier League campaign, marks a major commercial partnership for Suva Football and signals renewed private-sector interest in Fijian club football.
Suva FA president Nitin Singh welcomed the arrangement, describing it as a significant milestone for the association. Singh highlighted Global Care’s international health network, saying the company is connected with more than 350 hospitals around the world, including major institutions such as Apollo Hospital in India, and that the partnership brings more than just sporting backing. “They help people find the right treatment when they need it most,” he said.
Global Care director Yogendra Ravinesh Sharma underlined the company’s dual aims in joining the Suva outfit. While acknowledging the work required to secure the partnership, Sharma said his involvement extends beyond sport: through football he hopes to reach people who may need medical treatment overseas and to facilitate better access to care. He also explained his choice of Suva, calling it “the biggest district” and urging collaborative efforts to grow both the club and community benefits.
The deal will see Suva’s senior men’s team carry the Global Care name into the country’s top-tier competition, though the association has not publicly disclosed the financial terms, contract length or specific activation plans attached to the sponsorship. Club branding and kit changes were confirmed as part of the arrangement, with further details expected as the league season approaches.
The partnership adds to a wider trend of growing commercial engagement in Fijian football, where clubs and associations have recently secured private-sector deals to support player development, operations and competition ambitions. For Suva, the deal could provide a platform for enhanced resources, from travel and training support to off-field programs tied to Global Care’s health services, but organisers say the immediate focus is readying the team for the Extra Premier League season under its new identity.
Singh and Sharma both framed the sponsorship as the beginning of a broader relationship between sport and community health. “We all need to put our hands together and see how we can grow,” Sharma said, signalling that future initiatives may combine football development with medical outreach or referral pathways. Fans and stakeholders will watch closely for the club’s official launch activities and any community programs that follow as Global Care Suva FC prepares for the upcoming campaign.
