The Fiji Football Association has provided important updates regarding player eligibility for the first match of the Extra Battle of the Giants (BOG). Players who have accumulated two yellow cards in the Extra Premier League will be able to participate in the BOG opener; however, those who have received red cards will face suspensions of one or two matches.

This decision offers relief to the Ba FC trio, which includes national representative Nabil Begg, Ilaisa Vulimainavuso, and Penaia Sawaqe, who will all be available for Ba’s first encounter against Labasa. However, they will miss Ba’s upcoming EPL match due to their yellow card standings.

Other notable players affected by the yellow card rule include Tuiba Batiratu from Nadi, Shivnil Chand from Nadroga, Kelemedi Matou from Nasinu, and Kavaia Rawaqa from Rewa, each having two yellow cards recorded.

In contrast, Peniasi Rotidara of Suva will miss two games in the BOG due to a direct red card suspension. Additionally, Nadroga’s Abhishek Ram and Joeli Navalawa from Ba will not play in the opening BOG match due to accumulating a combination of red and yellow cards.

The BOG kicks off at noon on Friday, featuring an exciting lineup of matches, with Nadi playing Suva at 12 PM, followed by Lautoka vs. Nadroga at 2 PM, and Rewa taking on Navua at 4 PM. The highly anticipated match between Labasa and Ba is set for 6:30 PM. Fans can enjoy live commentary of all matches on Radio Fiji 2.

This season’s tournament promises to showcase top talent in Fijian football, fostering hopeful enthusiasm among fans as they anticipate thrilling performances from their favorite teams.
