Fruit Vendor Champions Health at Coca-Cola Games

A 60-year-old vendor, Amalaini Senivesi, is making a notable impact at the 2025 Coca-Cola Games Championship by promoting healthy eating. As the only vendor selling fruits at the event, she aims to address rising concerns over non-communicable diseases in Fiji. Senivesi expresses her belief in the importance of healthy living: “I decided to sell fruits this year because I believe we need to promote healthy living in Fiji.”

Her efforts resonate with a growing awareness of health issues, and her unique approach highlights the role of local vendors in supporting community well-being. Senivesi hopes that while pursuing her livelihood, she also inspires others to make healthier choices.

Meanwhile, fellow vendor Rusila Naivalu has also made a name for herself, offering food parcels at the Games for the third year in a row. Naivalu shares that her earnings during this event often surpass those made at the Suva market, illustrating the financial opportunities these championships provide for local businesses.

The Coca-Cola Games not only focus on athletic excellence but also bring vendors like Senivesi and Naivalu a chance for success. They symbolize the intertwined relationship between sporting events and community entrepreneurship, showcasing how the Games foster financial growth and social consciousness.

As thousands participate in this prestigious event, the shared experiences of vendors remind us of the resilience and creativity present within the Fijian community. The positive contributions made by individuals like Senivesi and Naivalu not only enhance the vibrancy of the Coke Games but inspire a collective quest for a healthier future.
