Sivoni Ligaiviu, a dedicated teacher from Kadavu Provincial Secondary School, recently expressed his gratitude for the blended learning opportunities provided by Fiji National University (FNU). These classes enabled him to successfully graduate with a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) focused on Industrial Arts, despite residing in the remote island of Kadavu.

Ligaiviu, who hails from Solotavui Village and has connections to Waitovu Village in Ovalau, has always prioritized the enhancement of his educational qualifications. He emphasized the significance of continuous learning, stating, “I’ve always made it a point to upgrade my qualifications. As a teacher in Kadavu, graduating today was made possible through the online classes offered by FNU.”

In his quest for academic advancement, Ligaiviu has already commenced his Postgraduate units and aspires to eventually achieve a PhD. He has set his sights on graduating with his Postgraduate qualification by December next year.

This story serves as an inspiring reminder of how education and technology can bridge geographical divides, enabling individuals from remote areas to access higher learning opportunities and pursue their dreams. Ligaiviu’s determination to further his education highlights the importance of lifelong learning and sets a positive example for others in similar situations.

Overall, Ligaiviu’s journey showcases the potential for growth and advancement within the education sector in Fiji, fostering hope for future educators and students aiming for success against all odds.
