Police have commenced an investigation into the reported break-in of former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry’s vehicle at the Fiji Labour Party headquarters in Suva. The police confirmed the investigation after administrators of the FLP filed an official report.
According to a post on social media by the FLP, the rear window of Mr. Chaudhry’s vehicle was shattered, suggesting an attempt to search for money. The statement indicated that a report had been lodged with the police, who have collected fingerprints from the scene. Authorities suspect that the prints may belong to young individuals.
In response to the incident, Mr. Chaudhry urged the public to remain vigilant regarding their property. He expressed concern about a perceived increase in crime rates as the festive season approaches, advising people to take extra precautions.
