Former Acting Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner Sevuloni Naucukidi continues to be released on bail following a court hearing in which his attorney, Tanya Waqanika, requested a one-month adjournment to allow the prosecution team time to establish representative counsel. The court session took place at the Suva Magistrates Court, where Mr. Naucukidi faced a single charge of criminal intimidation.

The allegations stem from an incident reported by a staff member, who filed a police complaint accusing Mr. Naucukidi of making threats and engaging in intimidating behavior within his office in July 2025. The case has been scheduled to resume on February 23, providing the involved parties with additional time to prepare for the proceedings ahead.

As this situation evolves, it highlights the importance of due process and the careful examination of allegations within the legal system. The outcome of this case may have significant implications for Mr. Naucukidi’s career and responsibilities within the corrections service.
