FMF Announces Three-Year Sponsorship of Fiji’s Hibiscus Festival

FMF, one of the oldest locally-owned major businesses in the country, has committed to a three-year sponsorship of the Pacific’s iconic Hibiscus Festival.

During a signing ceremony yesterday at FMF’s headquarters in Walu Bay, Suva, Business Analyst Manager Claudia Dass Smith expressed the company’s enthusiasm for contributing to Fiji’s cultural rejuvenation and history through this festival.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that FMF Foods Limited will be the proud gold sponsor of the Fiji Hibiscus Festival for the next three years,” said Smith. “The return of the Hibiscus Festival holds a special place in the hearts of all Fijians. This festival resonates deeply with our values at FMF Foods Limited, where we strive to support the communities.”

Smith highlighted that partnering with the Suva City Council (SCC) would strengthen their connection with consumers, who are essential to the company’s success.

Opetaia Ravai, Chairperson of the Hibiscus Standing Committee, remarked, “Without sponsors like FMF, organizing a large festival like Hibiscus would be impossible. We would struggle to cover the costs. In the coming days, you will see what we can deliver.”

After a five-year hiatus, the Hibiscus Festival will return from August 31 to mid-September, coinciding with the Term 2 school break. The event will take place at Ratu Sukuna Park, Suva Foreshore, and the Civic Centre. This year’s slogan is “Where Beauty Blooms, Suva Shines.”
