The FIJI Water Flying Fijians will be missing several key players during the 2024 Pacific Nations Cup, allowing six new talents to join the team. Prominent players such as Waisea Nayacalevu, Semi Radradra, Levani Botia, Peniasi Dakuwaqa, and Josua Tuisova will not be participating.
Head Coach Mick Byrne highlighted his discussions with the young athletes and stressed the importance of remaining authentic. “The message to all our young players is to enjoy the selection and be who they are. They don’t have to come in and do anything special now that they’ve joined the Flying Fijians,” Byrne stated.
He also noted that while the newcomers will inject energy into the squad, it is crucial for them to remain composed and not to place excessive pressure on themselves to perform exceptionally.
