Following their 21-12 victory over Georgia, the FIJI Water Flying Fijians are now preparing for the upcoming test match against the All Blacks later this month.
Head Coach Mick Byrne acknowledged the need for improvements from the Georgia match.
“We missed a lot of opportunities against Georgia. Defensively we were strong, but there are a couple of things we can improve on,” Byrne stated.
Byrne also praised the Fijian supporters for their presence and enthusiasm during the games.
“Our fans are awesome. They were in Georgia as well, with the blue flag flying high. We know they love the team, and seeing them in the crowd motivates us,” he expressed.
Looking ahead to the challenge posed by the All Blacks, Byrne is aware of the calibre they will face.
“The All Blacks are a quality side with talented players and depth. However, we’re looking forward to showcasing our talents,” he added.
As the Flying Fijians prepare for one of their toughest matches, the team remains motivated by the support from their fans.
Byrne encouraged fans to continue their vocal and passionate support.
The two teams will battle it out on 20 July, 3am in San Diego, USA.
