Flying Arrows Football Club is eager to leave a lasting impression in the 2024 Fiji Football Cecil’s National Regional Club Championship, taking place today at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. As one of the oldest football clubs in the Ba district, Flying Arrows enters the tournament with a roster strengthened by seasoned representatives from the area, who have demonstrated consistent performance throughout the season.

The club’s storied history and enhanced lineup position them as a serious contender for this year’s championship. The team received an enthusiastic send-off on Monday night during a farewell and presentation event at the Ba Civic Hall, which recognized the efforts of players and management.

Team member Penisoni Tirau shared insights about their preparation, emphasizing the focus on team cohesion following challenges at the Inter-District Championship (IDC). “Preparation with the players has been going on well. There were a few challenges in bringing players together after the IDC to build team bonding, but last week was much better as most players turned up,” Tirau stated. He also noted the significance of mental and spiritual readiness, proclaiming, “Our bonding has been great, and we’re ready to give our best.”

Flying Arrows will kick off their campaign today at 1 PM against Blues FC, followed by matches against Northpole FC at 11 AM tomorrow and Friends United on Saturday. The tournament promises to deliver an exciting four days of competition, culminating in the final on Sunday at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa, where the champions from Group A and Group B will clash for the title.

The tournament schedule includes a variety of matches, providing an excellent showcase for local talent and fostering community spirit through the love of football.
