The Korovisilou Health Centre has been temporarily closed following significant damage from flash floods that inundated the facility and the nearby staff quarters. The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has announced that the center will remain shut until Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to facilitate thorough cleaning and decontamination after an on-site evaluation.

During this closure, residents requiring emergency assistance, antenatal and postnatal care, and birthing services will be redirected to Navua Hospital. Those living in Korovisilou, Nakorovou, Yarawa, Navulivatu, and Serua Island are encouraged to seek medical attention at the Galoa Nursing Station. Meanwhile, patients from Vunaniu, Navutulevu, Naboutini, and Nabukelevu should visit the Korolevu Health Centre for their health needs.

To further support the community, mobile “health on wheels” clinics will be organized by the Serua/Namosi health team, with schedules to be communicated shortly. Cleanup efforts are being bolstered by the National Fire Authority and the Serua Provincial Administrator’s office, ensuring that vital health services will be restored as soon as possible.

This proactive response from health authorities reflects a commitment to the well-being of residents as recovery efforts progress.
