A flash flood warning is currently in effect for all low-lying, flood-prone areas and small streams across the Western and Northern divisions of Fiji. Additionally, a flash flood alert has been issued for the central eastern division due to ongoing weather conditions.
The Nadi weather office reports that an active trough of low pressure, which is bringing a significant amount of cloud cover and rain, is moving slowly over the northeastern regions of Fiji. This weather pattern is expected to impact the islands until Monday. Moreover, a second trough of low pressure is predicted to approach and affect the group starting tomorrow.
Fiji Met has cautioned that flooding is likely to occur in various locations, including drainages, small streams, roads, properties, and low-lying areas. Currently, many low-lying regions such as Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, and Rakiraki remain submerged under water.
