Five men in their twenties were apprehended by the Southern Division task force following an alleged aggravated robbery incident in Cunningham, Suva. The suspects reportedly hired a carrier vehicle from the victim, transporting hardware supplies from Laucala Beach around noon.
When they arrived at their destination, one suspect claimed he needed to collect the fare from another location. However, upon reaching this location, the suspects allegedly fled. The victim, in an effort to recover his vehicle, began to search for them on foot. The suspects then returned, assaulted the victim, and stole his truck, which was later discovered abandoned in Cunningham Stage 2.
The authorities, including the Southern Division task force and the Criminal Investigations Department, quickly mobilized to locate and arrest all five suspects, who are now being questioned at the Nabua Police Station as the investigation progresses.
